The Irideus Fish Whisper streamer fly was tied up for bull trout. Yet it has become a go to attack streamer fly that has taken many trophy trout and steelhead this season. It also was a great fly for Dolly Varden and Alaska Leopard trout taking it as a piece of old salmon flesh. A fun fly for dreging deep holes for sluggish fish. It will trigger that lateral line on them in cold water.
Some days its nice to hit the river with dry flies and waking patterns. Surface takes can be so rewarding. The Irideus Bionic Hopper is the one we love. It mimics many bugs like Golden Stoneflies, caddis, Skwallas. Sometimes it will help you find fish and even getting denied can be fun. We will trail a small nymph 18 inches behind this fly.
