The 2025 steelhead fly fishing season is off and running. Its such a wonderful time of year to fish by home or not far away. We are so blessed to have return numbers of wild steelhead thriving in our rivers.

These are a few beautiful wild California steelhead. They do not come easy and landing one on #14 flies can be a real challenge. Its fun to swing wooly buggers but most days tuning into the hatch can be a plus. We use floating lines on most of the California waters. You can run a dry or waking fly them switch up with a weighted nymph or streamer set up to get down. Most important keep the fly in the water. Give our 2025 Irideus floating fly fishing lines out. They offer nice distance casting and can be used with an indicator set up for those inclined.
