2025 Steelhead fly fishing fishing season is running for the fly fishing community .We are very exited every year as the winter rains fall. New Fresh chrome steelhead make their way up the rivers and streams. Its so fun to start the season with a full box of Irideus steelhead trout and salmon fly fishing flies. Will it be a streamer fly bite or a nymphing day? Will they slash minnows? Its nice to carry a diverse group of flies. Its also fun to decide what your first evffort will be. We try to encourge barbless hooks. Its easy to crimp the barb on any fly.

Above a a few of the flies we hope the fly fishing community will embrace this year for success. Sometimes is a smaller natural approach that will bring the first fish. But sometimes its the streamer fly on the swing.
As a wise man said,"read the water like a good book." Make it your best book ever. Fish all water skinny and deep. Try to avoid walking in the water until you fish the edges. Be kind to other anglers that need some local knowlege. This is a season to be thanful for. Its a season to treat the steelhead with the respect the shine to show us. Keep your fish in the water water facing up straem. Wet your hands before ever touching any fish to be released. Learn to tail fish. Ttry to avoid nets if you can. Try to educate anglers in a kind way how the handle and release fish. All wild fish in California must be released. Take pride in protecting them and handling the with care.
